On leaving things out
The hardest part of making this site was deciding what not to put on it. Every section I removed made the rest breathe a little easier.
Whitespace isn’t empty. It’s the thing that tells you where to look, and when to rest. A page that’s mostly quiet gives its few loud moments somewhere to land.
So the rule I kept coming back to: when in doubt, remove something. The page almost always got better.
The best interface is the one that asks for the least.
Replace this post whenever you have something real to say. It’s just here to show the shape of things.
